Gingival enlargement and pigmentation

Gingival pigmentation is presented as a diffuse deep purplish spot or non-uniformly shaped as brown and black discoloration, strands. Gingival depigmentation is a periodontal procedure which is used to remove dark spots from the gums. Elimination of these melanotic areas can be done by scraping, free gingival autografting, cryosurgery, electrosurgery, and various types of lasers.
